The University of Maryland-Eastern Shore (UMES) Hawks saw four players score double digits in points as they held off Morgan State University (MSU), 68-56, in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) game Feb. 11.

UMES Junior guard Percy Woods led all scorers with 21 points, making three 3-pointers and 10 free throws. Woods was followed by senior forward/center Tyler Hines with 16 points, while senior guard Hillary Haley added 13 points and sophomore guard Louis Bell followed with 10 points.

Sophomore guard/forward Justin Black led all MSU scorers with just 12 points. Freshman point guard Blake Bozeman followed with 10 points, six boards and five assists.

The loss ended Morgan Stateโ€™s nine-game winning streak over UMES; the Hawks hadnโ€™t beaten MSU since a matchup on Jan. 28, 2006.

UMES (6-17 overall, 3-7 MEAC) has won two of its last three games. Meanwhile, Morgan State is playing its worst basketball in years, losing its fifth straight game. The Bears fell to 5-17 overall and 3-8 against the MEAC, their worst conference record since 2006.
