Cardin to Attend Howard County Community Prayer Gathering in Response to Needless Violence Nationwide
TONIGHT, Wednesday, July 13 at 7:00 PM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will join interfaith religious leaders and fellow elected officials from throughout Maryland at a community prayer gathering hosted by Bridgeway Community Church in response to violent interactions between law enforcement officers and the communities they are meant to protect.
“We need to ensure that citizens’ rights are preserved while giving police the tools they need to re-engage with the families and individuals they are there to protect,” said Senator Cardin. “This is why I authored measures like the Law Enforcement Trust and Integrity Act, the End Racial Profiling Act, and the BALTIMORE Act, which will contribute to both better policing and improved relationships between law enforcement officers and the communities they serve.”
