Lieutenant Colonel Charity Adams joined the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corp (WAAC), later known as the Women’s Army Corp (WAC), in 1942. She rose through the ranks and led the acclaimed 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, known as the “Six Triple Eight,”in Europe during WWII.
