John Wall scored a game-high 29 points but the Washington Wizards still fell to the Atlanta Hawks, 116-98, in Game Three of the Eastern Conference first round series on April 22 in Atlanta, Ga.

The Hawks’ win cut the Wizards’ lead in the best-of-seven series to 2-1.

Washington struggled in shooting the ball and, uncharacteristically, played with a lack of urgency and energy on defense. The Wizards allowed Atlanta to score 60 points in the paint. Hawks stars Paul Milsap and Dennis Schroder combined for 56 points; Milsap had 29 and Schroder had 27.

Wall made 10 of 12 shots for 29 points but no other Wizards player was able to score consistently. Brad Beal had perhaps his worst game of the season, making just six of 20 shots for 12 points. Markieff Morris also struggled, making just four of 14 shots for 9 points.

Washington will play the Hawks in Atlanta, again, in Game Four on Monday, April 24.
