On Saturday, April 19, local West Baltimore residents, organizations and elected officials will join forces for a day of reflection and revitalization, including a community-wide clean up. The event hub is 1679 West North Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21217.
Volunteers will arrive between 10 – 10:30 am for a brief welcome from community and government representatives. Following the speaking, volunteers will fan out throughout West Baltimore in teams. The clean-up includes working in the Druid Heights, Robert Coleman, Penn North and Sandtown Winchester neighborhoods. Those in attendance will assist with litter pick-up, tree pit cleaning, preparation for the Sandtown Winchester Easter Egg hunt, planting new Spring plants as well as six locations where community residents are welcoming the volunteer power.

The “Reflect and Revive: West Baltimore Beautification Project” is sponsored by the State of Maryland’s West North Avenue Development Authority as a continued effort to bring communities together and experience each other’s unique cultures, and roll-up their sleeves to increase community pride.
“We continue to be impressed by the tremendous pride shown by West Baltimore residents in their communities through clean-up efforts each year,” said Chad Williams, executive director for the West North Avenue Development Authority.
“We are West Baltimore proud and invite everyone to join us on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. So far this year, our public safety and clean team has monitored and maintained areas at Pennsylvania Avenue and W. North Avenue among other locations, dramatically reducing visible signs of uncleanliness for all residents, businesses and visitors, and making West North Avenue and its surrounding communities a beautiful place to visit, work and live.” Williams added
During the event, volunteers will be sharing stories that will be posted afterward on the WNADA website and social media channels.
Tracey Malone, executive director of the Sandtown Winchester Community Collective, stated, “We are hoping that people would join us in our beautification initiatives, and we must all work together and do our part to maintain our communities clean and aesthetically appealing.”
All have a role in maintaining West Baltimore clean and attractive and Reflect and Revive is a proud beautification effort that gives locals, businesses and schools a chance to collaborate with their communities.
