The Washington Wizards kicked off their latest week with a two game winning streak before dropping their last two games of the week to the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers. Reserve swing forward Kevin Seraphin had a spectacular week, even dominating the Orlando Magic with superstar center Dwight Howard on the shelf with back spasms. But for all they did right in the week, a near 40-point loss at Madison Square Garden practically erased a weekโ€™s worth of hustle and effort. The AFRO recaps the week that was for the hapless Washington Wizards.

April 9โ€“Wizards, 113 โ€“ Charlotte, 85: The Wizards opened the week by blistering the Bobcats in guard John Wallโ€™s hometown. Washington exploded to a 20-point halftime lead and never looked back. Wall was stagnant in the scoring column with only two points but dished out 12 assists as seven Wizards scored in double figures. Guard Jordan Crawford scored a team-high 20 points and rookie forward Jan Vesley secured his first double-double of the year with 11 points and 11 rebounds. An all around great night for the franchise.

April 10โ€“Wizards, 93 โ€“ Orlando, 85: Itโ€™s not often that Magic center Dwight Howard misses a game. One of the leagueโ€™s most durable players, Howard injured his back nearly a week ago and sat out the teamโ€™s road game to the Verizon Center. And the Wizards took full advantage. Washington erased an 11-point first quarter deficit and Seraphin added 24 points and 13 rebounds in the start at center for the Wizards. Newly signed forwards James Singleton and Cartier Martin added 12 points apiece as Washington outscored Orlando 33-24 in the final quarter.

April 13โ€“Wizards, 65 โ€“ New York, 103:
By halftime of their game against the Knicks, the Wizards were down 21 points. By the time the third quarter ended, they were down by over 30. New York punched the Wiz repeatedly throughout the night on their way to Washingtonโ€™s largest loss of the season. Crawford led the team with 17 points but shot a woeful 6-of-20 from the field. But Crawford wasnโ€™t the only Wizard to struggle as the team shot just 27 percent on the night.

April 14โ€“Wizards, 89 โ€“ Cleveland, 98:
The Cleveland Cavaliers must have some kind of mind control over the Wizards and they exercised that again for their fourth straight victory over Washington this season. Despite the absence of star point guard Kyrie Irving, Cleveland pulled away late in the final quarter to dispatch Washington for their second straight loss. Wall led the team with 19 points and nine assists but six players scored in double figures for Cleveland, which shot over 50 percent from the field on the evening.
