In Baltimore no city agency — except for the Department of Recreation and Parks — has been audited for at least 25 years. But, that will change in 2015 when five agencies; police, public works, transportation, finance, as well as recreation and parks will be audited and a preliminary meeting on that process is scheduled before the end of 2014. We’ll talk about fiscal transparency, spending and performance at City Hall with Baltimore City Councilman Carl Stokes and the AFRO‘s Roberto Alejandro. Plus, city officials including Police Commissioner Anthony Batts held a press conference yesterday discussing BCPD’s strategic plan. We’ll talk policing with Fox 45 investigative producer Stephen Janis, Taya Graham, contributor and co-editor of “You Can’t Stop Murder: Truths About Policing in Baltimore and Beyond;” and retired Baltimore City Homicide Lt. Steven Tabeling, co-author of “You Can’t Stop Murder: Truths About Policing in Baltimore and Beyond.” All coming up on AFRO First Edition with Sean Yoes.
